Raddish, carrot & coconut Stew.

This simple and humble stew can be a great side dish for your heavy meals.


  • 2 raddish.( washed and thin sliced)
  • 2 carrots.( washed and thin sliced)
  • Some raddish greens (chopped)
  • 1/2tsp paanch foran.
  • 1 chopped green chillies.
  • Salt as per taste.
  • Half cup Fresh grated coconut .(desicated coconut can also be used)
  • Asofetida(hing)
  • Mustard oil.


  • Arrange all the ingredients.
  • Heat a pan.
  • Add 1 tsp mustard oil.
  • Then crackle paanch foran.
  • Add sliced raddish, carrots and saute.
  • Add salt and turmeric.
  • After a while add raddish greens and chopped green chillies.
  • Add a cup of water.
  • Cover the lid and cook till raddish and carrots get half cooked.
  • Then add grated coconut. If fresh not available, then you can use desicated coconut.
  • Mix and cover the lid.
  • Cook for another five minutes.
  • And its done.
  • Serve hot.
  • You can make it as soup, by adding little more water while cooking.
